Volvo S60 Polestar launched in Australia, just 50 examples

The Volvo S60 Polestar has landed in Australia. Due to high demand, Volvo Australia has decided to import just 50 of these sort-after performance sedans to include in the local lineup.

Polestar is a Volvo tuning specialist renowned for developing performance packages for various Volvo vehicles – from light engine tunes to complete high-horsepower conversions.

The Volvo S60 Polestar is based on the already hot Volvo S60 T6 R-Design, featuring an all-wheel drive system, and a turbocharged 3.0-litre straight six engine. Power has been increased on the Polestar though, from 224kW and 440Nm, to 242kW and 480Nm.

Increases in power are thanks to an engine software upgrade, and a new quad-outlet exhaust system. Acceleration from 0-100km/h can now be handled in 5.8 seconds, down from the standard S60 T6 time of 6.1 seconds.

Setting the Volvo S60 Polestar further apart from the T6 R-Design is a number of cosmetic changes, such as new 19-inch Heico Sportiv alloy wheels, a new rear diffuser at the back, and sports suspension (shared on the R-Design) lowering the S60 by 15mm.

The interior of the Volvo S60 Polestar also gets sports seats, a three-spoke sports steering wheel, and aluminium-accented pedals.

Prices start at $82,990, up from $72,990 of the normal S60 T6 R-Design. Better get in quick though.
