Hennessey plans monster tune for Dodge Challenger SRT Demon

With 627kW, a quarter mile time of 9.65 seconds and a 0-60mph time in a hypercar-humiliating 2.3 seconds, you could be forgiven for thinking the Dodge Challenger SRT Demon is the endgame of America’s decade-long muscle car power wars. Bzzt. Wrong.

Not content with concocting a Demon-vanquishing Camaro Exorcist with 1000hp (750kW), American tuning legends Hennessey Performance is apparently planning on taking the Demon’s power to a level beyond exorcism; a Bugatti Chiron-equalling 1500hp ( 1118kW).

This seems like outright lunacy from the Texas-based tuner/manufacturer, but with its track record, we have every reason to believe the team are capable of delivering. Upgrades of this magnitude would necessitate a roll cage and parachute, which the company also plans on offering.

Other projects from the company include the land-speed record breaking Hennessey Venom GT, based on the Exige. They’ve also twin-turcharged an 8.4-litre Dodge Viper V10 up to 835kW, so they are at the pointy end of the tuning elite.

We can’t wait to see the creation and what it is capable of. Are you excited to see what results? Tell us in the comments section below.

Hyundai’s luxury Genesis division is […]
