Unless you’ve got more money than the Sultan of Brunei, the chances of getting behind the wheel of an F1 car any time soon are pretty slim. It’s a grim outlook but it’s just something we all have to face.
Now though, with a little from your imagination, you can at least get the feel of being behind the wheel of an F1 car. Ferrari has produced a full 1:1 scale replica of the current 2011 Ferrari F150° Italia steering wheel, identical to the ones Fernando Alonso and Felipe Massa wrestle with.
Ferrari has announced it is making just 250 limited edition examples of the steering wheel, with a price tag of €1898 (approximately AU$2515). It’s sure to be one of the best Xmas presents for any Ferrari or F1 enthusiast.
It features a full carbon fibre construction, weighing 14.5kg – just like the real thing, and includes all moving buttons, switches and paddle shifters. It’s also presented on a leather base and comes with a clear presentation box to protect it from your mates’ fidgety hands.
