Audi RS 7 Sportback on sale in Australia from $238,500

The stunning Audi RS 7 Sportback has touched down in Australia. It joins the local showroom as one of the quickest four-door vehicles money can buy.

Based on the sleek A7 Sportback which uses the latest four-door coupe trend, the RS 7 is infused with all the performance you get with the RS 6. It takes on vehicles like the BMW M6 Gran Coupe and Mercedes-Benz CLS 63 AMG.

Power comes from a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 producing 412kW and a whopping 700Nm of torque. Linked up to an eight-speed tiptronic automatic transmission with power feeding to all four wheels – the only four-wheel drive in its class in Australia.

With these brutal mechanical ingredients and despite the lack of a dual-clutch auto as featured in the rivals, the RS 7 is able to demolish 0-100km/h in just 3.9 seconds. It also has three different top speeds, depending on what option package you go for (see below), with 250km/h, 280km/h, or 305km/h.

Even though it’s as quick as a fully fledged supercar, the fuel economy is the best in its class. The official average is just 9.8L/100km.

Standard features include adaptive air suspension, digital TV and radio, a quattro sports differential, 21-inch alloy wheels with a matt titanium look, a glass sunroof, and a full RS interior with sports seats and Valcona leather.

The new model is available now, with prices starting a $238,500.
