Aston Martin Rapide ‘Shooting Brake’ may enter production – report

Remember the Bertone Jet 2+2 Aston Martin Rapide shooting brake concept from the Geneva show in March? Well, there’s now word that it may go into limited production. If it does, it would have to be the coolest wagon on sale.

According to a recent Autocar report in the UK, Aston Martin may be interested in making the gorgeous wagon and selling it as an ‘Aston Martin Rapide Shooting Brake’. Just how many that could hit production is still a bit up in the air.

It’s understood if more than ten are made, Aston Martin will likely build it from its headquarters at Gaydon in the UK. If it’s under ten, Bertone may take the project on and build them at its centre in Turin, Italy.

Nothing is official just yet so we mustn’t get too excited, but if the stunning wagon is eventually given the go ahead, it will likely sit above the Rapide in terms of price.

Like the Rapide, the shooting brake would come with the company’s 5.9-litre V12 engine producing 350kW, or 410kW if the Rapide S – 2013 Rapide replacement – specifications are used.
