After a long absence, the Alfa Romeo brand returns to F1 with some cutting edge engineering expertise in the powertrain and aerodynamics department. Team Principal Frédéric Vasseur could hardly contain his jubilation in a statement, saying:

“Our target ahead of 2018 is clear: We have to catch up with the field and continue improving our performance during the course of the season. We have put lots of energy and commitment into the development of the C37. I want to thank our partners and fans for their continuous support. Alfa Romeo’s most dominant era in the sport was the 1950’s, when Giuseppe “Nino” Farina and the famous Juan Miguel Fangio drove the type 158 and 159 vehicles to victory.

The first Alfa Romeo car to wear the Quadrifoglio emblem was the ‘RL’ driven by Ugo Sivocci, which won the 15th Targa Florio in 1923.
