2020 Renault Koleos update now on sale in Australia

Renault Australia is bringing in an update for its mid-size SUV, with the announcement of the 2020 Renault Koleos range. The SUV is being presented with an enhanced ‘5:5:5 Easy Life Ownership Program’ for further peace of mind.

The 2020 Koleos showcases a mildly facelifted design. In fact, you’ll need to be a serious fan to spot the changes. At the front is a revised bumper bar with a wider front grille, chrome trimmings, along with a big skid plate section down below. A matching skid plate piece is added to the back, with a larger brake light in the middle. Some fresh alloy wheels also enhance the design.

Three main trim lines continue to make up the local range, spanning from Life, Zen to the top Intens. All are powered by a Renault-Nissan 2.5-litre petrol, and all are front-wheel drive, except the Intens which is available with 4×4 as an option. The engine continues to produce 126kW and 226Nm. Unfortunately for diesel fans, the turbo-diesel Koleos has been dropped for Australia, and we aren’t offered the new Blue dCi 150 and Blue dCi 190 that are offered overseas.

Being based on the Nissan X-Trail, the 2020 Koleos is a fairly large mid-sizer, measuring 4670mm in length, with a 2710mm wheelbase. This provides ample interior space for passengers, along with a 458L boot, expandable to 1690L with the rear seats folded down.

In the front Renault has updated its R-Link touch-screen media interface. There’s a 7.0-inch horizontal unit for the base model, and an 8.7-inch vertical unit for the upper models. Either way, both come with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Two USB ports have been moved to below the centre console for 2020, and the Zen/Intens come with sat-nav with map updates by TomTom, and 12 months of free traffic updates.

Lastly, the updated 5:5:5 ownership program. This comprises of five years (unlimited kilometre) warranty, five years capped-price servicing for up to 150,000km, and up to five years roadside assistance. This is up from the previous three-year package. Speaking about the new coverage, Matthew Wright, Renault Australia aftersales and quality director, said:

“Renault’s class-leading leading 30,000km servicing intervals ensures Australians choosing the Renault Koleos enjoy even greater peace of mind, convenience and value all backed by the heritage of the Renault brand.”

The new model is on sale in Australia now from the following prices (excluding on-road costs):

2020 Renault Koleos Life 2.5L petrol CVT 2WD: $32,490
2020 Renault Koleos Zen 2.5L petrol CVT 2WD: $35,990
