Following the release of the initial exterior revealing, Kia has now announced all details on the new 2016 Sportage including specs and interior features.

We also get a good look at the interior for the first time, which shows a clear step up in quality and technology. Kia says the all-new interior is one of the biggest improvements over the outgoing third-gen model.

The wide, driver-oriented dashboard blends metalwork with soft-touch materials, while the main dash fascia features a 7.0- or 8.0-inch touch-screen interface with full connectivity options. Thanks to a 30mm increase to the wheelbase, there is now more passenger space too. For the front there is 5mm extra headroom and 19mm of added legroom, and in the back there is 16mm and 7mm added, respectively.

In the very back, cargo space is increased from 465 litres to 503L, while the area is made more practical thanks to a dual-height luggage floor. The luggage area is also 35mm wider, and this is despite no change to the overall width of the SUV.

Australian specifications and variant lineup details are yet to be announced, however, it will go on sale in 2016. See below for the initial specifications (European).
