WIMMER Mercedes-Benz C 63 AMG wagon gets huge power boost

Brett Davis

Are you after a powerful shaggin’ wagon? The standard Mercedes-Benz C 63 AMG Estate is already a serious bit of kit, however, tuning company WIMMER Rennsporttechnik has other ideas.

In standard form the C 63 comes with a 6.2-litre naturally aspirated V8 producing 336kW of power, or 358kW with the optional Performance Pack. It’s able to smash 0-100km/h in around 4.6 seconds while offering all the latest luxuries and equipment you’d expect in a top-line Mercedes-Benz.

WIMMER has a package that involves ripping the engine out and stripping it down to extract lots more horsepower. With new cylinder heads, intake manifold, and a new throttle body, the NA V8 produces a massive 495kW of power – or 615hp to the old-fashioned types.

It’s unknown what sort of acceleration numbers can be achieved with the kit, although it would be reasonable to assume 0-100km/h would come up in the 3.0-seconds range.

To (try) keep it all under control WIMMER Rennsporttechnik also fits a KW Club Sport suspension kit, lowering the C 63 down over a set of new lightweight 19-inch BBS alloy wheels.

We love wagons here at PD, especially brute performance wagons like this. We’re just not so sure about the off-yellow colour scheme. What do you think?
