Washing a car is time consuming and can quite often be rather expensive. Nissan has just tested an innovative coating that uses nano-paint technology to repel dirt – goodbye bucket and sponge.
The “specially engineered super-hydrophobic and oleophobic paint” is able to repel mud, rain, oils, and general dirt.
The Nissan Note featured in the video below (model not sold in Australia) has had half of its body painted with the nano-paint technology, while the other half is left untouched.
Nissan – first car manufacturer to apply the state-of-the-art technology – currently has no plans to make the technology available to the public just yet, however, Nissan’s engineers will continue to test the paint over the coming months. The special coating could become a future aftermarket option.
