Renowned Audi tuner MTM has devised a decent performance upgrade package of the rather humble Skoda Octavia RS, providing more power and enhanced style.
MTM is one of the most highly regarded Audi tuners in the world, specialising in engine computer modifications, exhausts, and subtle styling upgrades. For the Skoda Octavia RS, that’s exactly what the company has come up with.
Starting with the engine. It begins life as the 2.0-litre Volkswagen EA888 turbocharged four-cylinder, also seen in the latest Mk7 Golf GTI. Power peaks at 162kW with torque maxing out at 350Nm.
With the help of an engine computer upgrade developed by MTM, the power figure grows to a much more serious 224kW. This should help cut down the factory 0-100km/h time from 6.8 seconds to more like 5.0-5.5 seconds.
Other than the engine tune, MTM has given this show car a unique Meteor Grey matt wrap over the entire body, featuring Apple Green stripes for that go-fast look. There’s also some black highlights including the grille and front intakes, side mirrors, and the alloy wheels.
Overall, the tune provides a neat transformation for the Octavia, and some inspiration for all owners who are thinking of personalising their Octavia. The Octavia RS is on sale in Australia in sedan and wagon format. Prices start at $36,490 (excluding on-road costs).
