McLaren says the idea for the P1 GTR came to life through customers of the road-legal P1 wanting a more track-focused version. The GTR is set to begin production in June next year and it will be offered exclusively to existing P1 owners.

The insane model will come with a full comprehensive program that will include driving events, driver training, and vehicle support.

The P1 GTR design concept will be unveiled at the McLaren Brand Centre at Pebble Beach Lodge on Friday August 15. It will then debut on the Pebble Beach Lawn over the weekend.

Next year’s production start date for the P1 GTR marks 20 years since the McLaren F1 GTR won the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
