Lotus reportedly helped tune the chassis and suspension on the second-gen 2o15 Hyundai Genesis, which will go on sale in Australia in July this year. The testing included Lotus taking the highly anticipated car on a trip around the Nurburgring in Germany.

According to Autoguide, Hyundai brought in the experts from Lotus and the ‘Ring to “strike the ideal balance of control, confidence and comfort”. Lotus is well known for it’s track tuning ability and no doubt passed on some sage advice to Hyundai.

Lotus also apparently played a hand in developing Hyundai’s HTRAC all-wheel drive system, which selects the right torque flow to achieve maximum traction on any given surface. When switched to sport mode, HTRAC will transfer 90 per cent of the torque to the rear wheels for a better driving experience.

The news of Lotus lending its assistance to the Genesis’ development certainly adds to the hype surrounding the car. Although a fair bit is known about the new model, we can’t wait to see one in the flesh when it debuts Down Under.
