Red Bull F1 racing champion Sebastian Vettel will be putting his name on a new SUV concept at the upcoming 2011 IAA Frankfurt Motor Show. The Infiniti FX50 Vettel edition concept could be capable of 300km/h.

Infiniti has revealed some details that it has developed a new Infiniti FX50 Vettel edition in collaboration with Sebastian Vettel. As you’d expect, it will come with a number of high-performance revisions over the standard Infiniti FX50S Premium – a personal vehicle of choice for the F1 Champion – including various carbon fibre trimmings and highlights inside and out.

In standard form, the Infiniti FX50S Premium comes with a 5.0-litre V8 engine outputting 291kW and 500Nm, capable of pushing the big SUV from 0-100km/h in just 5.0 seconds and onto a quarter mile time of 13.7 seconds at 164km/h. Top speed in standard form is limited to 266km/h.

Sebastian Vettel has been heard saying that he would like it if the Infiniti FX50 Vettel edition could achieve a top speed of beyond 300km/h. Whether Infiniti will fulfill Vettel’s wishes is expected to be revealed upon the FX50’s official debut.

The Infiniti FX50 Vettel edition will be unveiled in full at the 2011 IAA Frankfurt Motor Show in two week’s time. We’ll keep you posted.
