Hennessey Performance is passing through its 25th birthday, and to celebrate, the American tuner has released a special treatment for the Ford Mustang.

Named the HPE800 Ford Mustang, Hennessey’s most significant contribution can be found in the powertrain, namely a 2.9-litre supercharger. Forcing all that extra air into the 5.0-litre V8 has raised output by a maniacal 275kW/336Nm, with outputs now standing at 600kW and 878Nm.

Hennessey also added a carbon high-flow air induction system, upgraded the fuel pump and injectors, as well as installed a new axle-back exhaust system. The end result is a 0-100km/h time of just 3.1 seconds, a quarter-mile run of 10.7 seconds, and a top speed of 334km/h.

Hennessey said in a statement: “Performance figures are with experienced driver under ideal track conditions,” alluding to the fact it’s no easy feat getting all the performance out of the HPE800 package.

To match the pushing power, Hennessey has upgraded the anchors with 15-inch Brembo brakes, revised the suspension system, lowered the ride height with KW Variant 3 coilover suspension, added a carbon rear spoiler, and wrapped the 20-inch lightweight wheels in Michelin Pilot Super Sport rubber (265/30 front, 295/30 rear).

Special touches to the HPE800 include exterior badges, several carbon fiber body parts including the front splitter and side sills, as well as Hennessey floor mats, headrests and interior graphics inside.

Hennessey is limiting numbers of the HPE800 upgrade to just 25, so you’d best be quick.
