Hennessey ‘HPE700’ kit announced for 2015 Ford Mustang

Hennessey has just released its tuning package for the sixth generation Mustang. With Saleen announcing its 477kW kit for the Mustang last week, it was only a matter of time before more tuners started doing the same – let the power wars begin.

The HPE700 kit by Hennessey includes a supercharger, a new stainless steel exhaust, a fuel system upgrade, new throttle body, as well as installation and dyno tuning to make everything work in harmony.

Power for the HPE700 kit is rated at 535kW and 835Nm, or 211kW and 294Nm more than the factory 2015 Ford Mustang GT V8. The power jump means the Hennessey Mustang is capable of sprinting from 0-100km/h in 3.6 seconds, and will run the quarter-mile in 11.2 seconds at 131mph.

To ensure the Mustang is aerodynamically prepared for the extra power (or more to the point, it looks cool), Hennessey has included host of CarbonAero carbon fibre items such as a rear diffuser, side skirts, front splitter, and a rear boot spoiler. If Hennessey knows how to do one thing well, it’s make cars look as fast as they go.

Finishing off the HPE700 kit is a set of 20-inch Hennessey H10 lightweight wheels wrapped with Michelin Pilot Super Sport tyres.

To ensure the HPE700 Mustang kit is kept unique, Hennessey will be limiting the package to just 500 units for the 2015 model year. All cars will come with serial-numbered dash and engine plaques, as well as HPE700 exterior badging.

The regular 2015 Ford Mustang is due to go on sale in Australia in the middle of next year.
