Haval H6 now on sale in Australia from $29,990

Haval’s fourth model line has arrived in Australia with an introductory drive-away price of $29,990 until the end of the year.

Haval H6

The Chinese SUV maker hopes the H6 will take the company to a new level, with Range Rover Evoque-esque styling including the floating D-pillar treatment.

Two variants are available; the $29,990 H6 Premium and the $33,990 H6 Lux (drive-away until December 31, 2016). Both are powered by a 145kW/310Nm 2.0-litre direct injection turbocharged four-cylinder with a six-speed dual-clutch gearbox.

The base Premium gets 17-inch alloys, leather steering wheel, reverse camera and tyre pressure monitoring system and a seven-speaker audio system, while the flagship Lux gets a panoramic sunroof, power front seats and a higher end stereo with eight speakers and a sub.

The H6 joins the compact H2, Territory/ Kluger-sized H8 and Prado-rivalling H9 for the brand’s Australian lineup. There could be more Haval’s on the way with concepts previewing a potential H2 successor and hybrid variants. The company has no plans to implement a diesel engine at this stage, despite the widespread use by rivals.

Both cars benefit from a five-year/100,000km warranty. Below is a run-down of the features of the Premium and LUX.
