Cadillac CTS-V Coupe Hennessey V1000 tuning kit

Brett Davis

Hennessey has released details of a new tuning package for the Cadillac CTS-V Coupe called the Hennessey V1000. As you might have guessed, the tuning kit brings power levels up to the 1000hp mark (746kW).

The kit doesn’t just concentrate on what’s under the bonnet though, there’s also a comprehensive aerodynamic bodykit comprising of carbon fibre panels. It gets a new extra-low front splitter, matching side skirts and a new rear diffuser moulded into the Hennessey rear bumper bar.

Under the bonnet is where it’s all happening for this bad boy though. To start with, Hennessey takes a standard LS7 7.0-litre GM V8 and fits a pair of bail-bearing turbochargers to it. Hennessey also flows the heads, fits new pistons and a new crankshaft along with a bolstered fuel system. The engine is then fed air via an air-to-air intercooler.

Overall power is that magic 1000hp, or 746kW. To make sure all that oomph is put through to the ground, Hennessey recommends fitting a Centreforce dual friction clutch for those going for the manual option, and a rebuilt transmission with upgraded torque converter for those going with the auto.

Hennessey says the V1000 will be able to crack the 0-100km/h dash in around 3.5 seconds on go on to a top speed of an eye-opening 370km/h (230mph). It’s also said to be a ’10-second package’, meaning the V1000 is able to do the quarter mile run in under 10 seconds (10.9 claimed).

Here’s the list of full kit details. Hennessey does warn though, only 12 of these brutal beasts will be made.
