Hyundai Australia has announced pricing and specifications for the all-new 2017 i30 range, just weeks before its local launch.

Five main variant lines will be offered in Australia, spanning from the Active, SR, SR Premium, Elite, to the top Premium. Most come with a 2.0 GDi petrol engine producing 120kW and 203Nm, while a 1.6 CRDi turbo-diesel will also be offered for some, developing 100kW and 280Nm.

At the top end of the range is a 1.6-litre turbocharged petrol engine producing an impressive 150kW and 265Nm. This engine will be available with either a six-speed manual or seven-speed dual-clutch auto, available from the SR and above variants.

Some of the standard highlight features include an 8.0-inch touch-screen interface with sat-nav, along with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and digital radio. Alloy wheels are also standard across the board, along with LED daytime running lights, auto headlights, tyre pressure monitoring, and hill-start assist.

Stepping up to the SR trim and above adds advanced features such as auto emergency braking on the auto models, blind-spot detection, driver attention alert, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-keep assist, and smart cruise control (auto only). There’s also 18-inch alloy wheels and wireless device charging.

Available as options will be a panoramic glass roof on some variants, as well as a beige interior setting. The top Premium model gets ventilated and heated front seats, the glass roof, and satin exterior trimmings as standard.

The new i30 will go on sale later this month from the following starting prices (excludes on-roads). PerformanceDrive will be at the official media launch early in May to bring you a first-drive review. Stay tuned.
