2017 Holden Trax now on sale in Australia from $23,990

Holden’s smallest SUV offering, the Trax, has just undergone an extensive facelift and starts from the same $23,990 as the outgoing vehicle.

The range now consists of three models; the LS, all-new LT, and range-topping LTZ which sees an increase of $1600. These are powered by two different engine options.

There’s fresh styling on the outside, as well as a completely new interior featuring a 7.0-inch touch-screen, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, plus Holden’s MyLink system.

LED daytime running lights are standard and the automatic LS now receives the 1.4-litre turbo with 103kW and 175Nm. The Ecotec 1.8 is reserved for the manual LS, which is the only row-your-own variant in the 2017 Trax range.

Stumping up to the LT gets you a sunroof, push-button start and digital radio, while the LTZ range-topper includes LED taillights, TFT instrument screen, rear cross-traffic alert and blind-spot monitoring.

The Holden Trax continues in the small SUV segment in Australia. Last year the local GM arm sold 7976 examples, giving it 8.1 per cent market share. Sales for the year were up an impressive 25.6 per cent compared with 2015, suggesting this new model will continue the momentum.
