2017 Holden Commodore Motorsport, Director, Magnum special editions announced

Holden’s final three limited-edition VF II Commodores have been launched, with the names Director and Magnum and Motorsport used, confirming the use of Peter Brock HDT-inspired monikers.

Before you ask, no. There is no energy polariser on the Calais-based Director, but each has been certified to General Motors’s ‘Level 3’ track certification, usually reserved for the hottest versions of the Corvette and Camaro. To this end, the two sedans receive Magnetic Ride Control (MRC) usually only seen on HSVs, while the ute gets an FE3 suspension setup reserved for the SS V Redline.

The front disc rotors of all cars get a 3.25kg lighter ‘floating disc’ arrangement, while the SS-based Motorsport Edition gets a high-rate sub-frame bush for higher lateral speed.

Motorsport Edition – Limited to 1200 vehicles

Celebrating Commodore’s on-track success over the years, including over 460 Australian Touring Car Championship and V8 Supercars victories, Motorsport Edition comes with a range of styling enhancements. Director – Limited to 360 vehicles

Available in very limited numbers, Director represents the ultimate blend of performance and luxury. Based on the Calais V sedan, Director adds a black roof, paddle shifters and hood vents and stands as a tribute to the original Director and the man that created it, the late Peter Brock.

Inspired by the original Magnum developed by Holden Dealer Team in 1983, the new Magnum Limited Edition is the quickest and best equipped Holden ute ever created. Celebrating the final year of ute production in Australia, Magnum includes heated performance front seats, hard tonneau cover and unique decals for ultimate road presence.
