In light of last week’s surprising VF Holden Commodore price structure, Holden has revealed the 2014 ‘WN’ Caprice and Caprice V will also receive quite a hefty price cut, as well as a completely redesigned interior and a host of new technologies and safety features.

The long-wheelbase luxury Holden will be available in two different models; Caprice and Caprice V. Both models will sport their own unique powertrain, with the Caprice using Holden’s 3.6-litre LPG V6, and the Caprice V using the LS2 6.0-litre V8 engine. Power outputs for both models are yet to be announced. Both engines are mated to a six-speed automatic transmission.

Both models also feature Holden’s new auto park assist, which can be used for parallel and right-angle parking.

Entry price for the Caprice now starts from $54,990, down from $64,990, and the top-tier Caprice V is priced at just $59,990, down from $69,990, representing a significant price cut of $10,000 on both models.

This is the first time any Caprice model has been priced under $60,000. Prestige paint options will cost buyers an additional $550.

The Caprice and Caprice V share same sheet metal as the 2012 model, albeit with a few exterior chrome appointments. There’s also 18- and 19-inch alloy wheels, and quad exhaust outlets for Caprice V. The main difference is inside, which has been totally redesigned from the ground up.

New to the Caprice is Holden’s new MyLink multimedia interface, which features an eight-inch colour touch-screen that can be used to access your iPod, Siri Eyes Free, and Pandora and Stitcher SmartRadio built-in apps. Both models feature satellite navigation with colour mapping and live traffic updates.
