A Lamborghini Huracan built by Underground Racing has set a new world record for the fastest half-mile sprint, topping out at more than 380km/h.

The record was smashed by a Verde Mantis Huracan, from Underground Racing. It was achieved by hooking the V10 powerpant up to a twin-turbo respirator, surgically removing its transmission in favour of a new sequential gearbox, and shedding all unnecessary weight.

The results are profound, with this, the most powerful Lamborghini Huracan on the streets producing around 2000hp (1491kW), setting a blistering half-mile terminal velocity of 238.6mph (384.1km/h).

The stock Lamborghini Huracan comes packed with a 449kW punch, which for most of the population is a whole lot more power than they’ll ever need. But really, in this day and age who wants 449kW when you can have more than three times that amount? Check out the video below showing the run.
